Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT)
General
Sepco EMT is manufactured from high-grade flat-rolled steel. Produced by the electric resistance welding process, the finished tube isuniform in OD size, wall thickness, a defect free interior surface and smoothly welded seams. The ½”-4” EMT are made from zinc coils. Produced using an inline galvanizing process. The surface of all of them is thoroughly coated zinc, so that metal to metal contact and galvanic protection against corrosion are provided. Additionally, the exterior is protected by a clear zinc chromate coating. The good interior surface quality provides smooth continuous raceways for easy and fast wiring pulling. Its excellent ductility provides easy bending, cutting and joining to prevent waste of time and materials.
Sepco EMT is produced in normal trade sizes from ½” to 4”. EMT is produced in standard lengths of 10 feet (3.05 m).
Application
Electrical Metallic Tubing, National Electrical Code (NEC_) 2002 Article 358, can be install indoors and outdoors, exposed or concealed, in all kinds of atmospheric conditions, and in hazardous locations. It can also be installed in hazardous locations when used in accordance with NEC_ 502.4, 503.3, and 504.20, provided it is not subject to severe physical damage during and after installation and is properly protected against corrosion. EMT also provides mechanical protection for the conductors while reducing Electro-Magnetic Field (EMF) exposure and shielding against Electro- Magnetic Interference (EMI). It also is an approved equipment grounding conductor under the 2002 NEC_ Section 250.118(4). The NEC_ establishes the minimum requirements for safe electrical installations. Because of the varied environments in which electrical equipment is installed, local amendments are often added. Always consult local codes prior to installation.
Specifications
Sepco EMT pipe is manufactured in accordance with the latest edition of the following:
_ American National Standard for Rigid Steel EMT (ANSI® C80.3)
_ Underwriters Laboratories Standard for EMT-Steel (UL797)
_ National Electric Code® 2002 Article 358 (1999 NEC_ Article 348)
_ Federal Specification WW-C_563
Hot Dip Galvanized Rigid Steel Conduit (RIGID)
General
Sepco RIGID is manufactured from high-strength steel, and produced by the electric resistance welding process. The finished conduit is uniform in OD size, wall thickness, a defect free interior surface and smoothly welded seams. RIGID is produced using an inline galvanizing process. It is hotdipped galvanized inside and outside, so that metal-to-metal contact and galvanic protection against corrosion are provided. Additionally, it is topcoated with a compatible organic layer to inhibit white rust and increase corrosion resistance. The good interior surface quality provides smooth continuous raceways for easy and fast writing pulling. Its excellent ductility provides easy bending, cutting and joining to prevent waste of time and materials. You do not need to worry about damage to the conduit system, even through multiple 90° bends.
Sepco RIGID is produced in normal trade sizes from ½“ to 4” in standard lengths of 10 feet (3.05 m), including coupling. RIGID is threaded on both ends, with a coupling applied to one end and a thread protector to the other. The pitch of the threads conforms to the American National Standard for pipe threads, general purpose (Inch), ANSI/AMSE B1.20.1. Threads are protected after cutting by an application of molten zinc. The quantity in primary bundles and master bundles conform to the NEMA standard bundle quantity.
Application
Galvanized Rigid Steel Conduit can be installed indoors or outdoors, exposed
or concealed, in all kinds of atmospheric conditions, and in hazardous
locations, when in accordance with NEC® 2002 Article 344. Also, it
provides mechanical protection for the conductors while reducing Electro-
Magnetic Field (EMF) exposure and shielding against Electro-Magnetic
Interference (EMI).
Galvanized Steel Rigid Conduit is an approved equipment grounding
conductor under the 2002 NEC® Section 250.118. The NEC® establishes
the minimum requirements for safe electrical installations. Because of the
varied environments in which electrical equipment is installed, local
amendments are often added. Always consult local codes prior to any
installation.
